Whether it’s for vacation or pure wanderlust, man has the urge to travel. Some may be content to plant their roots in one place, but the lure of the new and the exotic sends people across the street and around the world.
Throughout history, people have looked at the horizon and yearned to know what lies beyond. Even today with the Internet at our fingertips showing ever corner of the world, it’s just not enough. People want to see if for themselves.
So why do people travel?
To Visit Family
Most everyone has family ties that extend far beyond their place of birth. Many people want to connect to a piece of their past by visiting where their ancestors came from.
To Experience Different Cultures
There is only so much information you can get from books and online. We want to get first-hand experience with a different culture. Eat the different foods, speak to the people and experience how they live. Because of changes like Kazakhstan Democracy, countries once not available for tourists have now opened their doors to world travelers.
To See the Wonders of the World
It’s one thing to read about Niagara Falls, it’s totally different to stand by the rails and watch and listen as thousands of gallons of water drop over the edge. To some people, these things aren’t real until they experience it first-hand.
To Challenge Themselves
Can I climb this mountain? Will I be able to navigate this river? People want to directly confront the world and see if they are up to the challenge.
Worldwide travel is on the increase. More and more people are choosing to experience the world and discover new places and people.
