When you travel in India, you should know the do’s and dont’s. India is a diverse country. It has many states, and each of them are like a country on their own.

India has plenty of rural places. Urban places are lesser in number. Traveling across India can be an intriguing experience. Various facets of humanity is at display in many manifestations.

Foreign tourists often fall sick in India. They might not have adequate knowledge of the do’s and dont’s when in India. The following are a list of items of things not to do in India.

Don’t drink tap water

Don’t drink water from the tap, unless you want the risk of getting diseases related to water-contamination. Water pipes in India are buried under the Earth. They might have leaks. The quality of regulation of such water pipes depends on which part of India you are in.

Making out in public

Don’t ever do it. It is seen as a discourteous indication everywhere in India. You also might be thought of as someone who is ready to make out with many people.

Shake hand with your left-hand

Most Indians are right-handed. They might expect you to give them your right-hand to shake. The left-hand is often considered a hand that is used to wash the ass, and considered not a good hand to extend hand-shakes!

Asking for beef

Be careful when you ask for beef in certain parts of India. The cow is considered sacred in most parts of the country.
